Dear members of C4C,
This question is basiclly for Andrew, so i'll just cut to it. I was looking at the
Atlantic Division website, and i saw the National qualifying regatta. I noticed that
Banook's Junior Warcanoe was 3rd. What happened between those two periods of time that
took you from 3rd in your division to 1st in the country? Also, who were some of the
people in the boat who came up big in that National final race? (feel free to name a couple)
Hey thanks a lot for the question. The big jump between qualifying and nationals was caused by
a few key factors. First and most important the boat simply trained a lot harder and got a
wake-up call at the qualifying regatta. During the qualifying regatta one of our stronger paddlers
Joey Starr broke his paddle off the start, so Banook raced a man short. Also, as per bodies that switched
between qualifying and nationals, Ben and Andrew Russell switched in and that was a pretty big boost.
Also, Jeremy Mock a young paddler that stroked the boat did an absolutely fabulous job up front at nationals,
and that was hugely important in the win.
