How do you deal with the knee pains of spring camp?
Knee pain can be a real.... pain in the knee. When getting back on the water, knee pain is inevitable. Icing it after practice can help, as well as learning how to stand up and paddle during rest (this will also impress the ladies). Another important thing to do is to make sure you stretch a lot. Knee pain is often caused not only by long periods of kneeling, but also because the muscles in your legs get tight. A tight IT band can often cause more pain than actually kneeling on the knee. Stretching and massaging it will help a lot. Also make sure you have a good block.
